London Brewery Statistics 2025

After a few years of decline the brewing scene in London again seems to have levelled out. 2025 saw 7 closures, but 5 additions, a net loss of two that drops the number down to 99. Below the psychological 100 barrier, but still a good number.

For a while it looked like the new hotspot of Blackhorse was rapidly cooling with the loss of a number of breweries, but as we move in to the new year some of these places are set to reopen under the guise of a new brewery - 40FT have now relocated production to the old Hackney Brewery site and both East London and Hackney Church are planning on opening new taprooms in the area.

There was a surprise in the appearance of a new Meantime brewery back in Greenwich and, finally, Guinness opened it's new brewery in Covent Garden after many delays.

There are a number of new openings on the horizon and details will, as usual, be added to the Guide once brewing is confirmed.
