This is a lovely place, warm, friendly and welcoming, with a good range of well kept gravity casks, keg beers plus ciders. In addition, there's a good list of cans/bottles, including several low/no alcohol options. They offer thirds and all prices are exactly pro rata. Food extends to pork pies. The pub is about 10 minutes' walk north of Gidea Park station. From here to Hop Inn, Hornchurch, walk back to Gidea Park station, cross the railway and head to the Drill roundabout. From the other side of the roundabout, catch the 370 bus to the stop just after Emerson Park station, and you alight close to the Hop Inn. From there it's an easy train ride one stop to Upminster Tap Room, or you can continue on the 370 bus.
