This LB Havering micropub opened in December 2019, and has more recently expanded into next door to offer more space. They offer gravity casks from a cold room behind the bar, plus keg beers and ciders/perries. In addition, they have a good list of around 25 cans and bottles, including some very good Belgian beers. Winner of numerous awards including National Cider & Perry Pub of the Year 2022, Greater London Regional Pub of the Year 2022 (& 2021). The Hop Inn is the middle of 3 excellent local micropubs which together form a handy crawl. If you're coming from anywhere vaguely west of here, it is probably easiest to start at Gidea Park micropub, then visit Hop Inn, ending at Upminster Tap Room. However, if you find yourself in Hornchurch and want to get to get to Gidea Park Micropub, take the 370 bus to the Drill roundabout, and walk from there. To get to Upminster Tap Room from Hop Inn, just take the handy overground service one stop from nearby Emerson Park station to Upminster, and walk 5 minutes from there - or alternatively take the 370 bus.

Smart micropub in a former shop. 4 gravity cask ales and 5 draft beers alongside an above average cider selection - something it is known for. This bar is only a couple of minutes from Emerson Park station on the Upminster to Romford line which conveniently links the three East London micropubs in the Guide.
