Classic country pub on Putney Heath by Wimbledon Common.

Jezza says

Open again under new ownership and after a major refurbishment, this is a pub transformed. Its massive garden is impressive enough – and gorgeous on a warm sunny day – but the interior is really lovely, with essentially one large open plan space, cleverly divided into a number of distinct areas, some of which are quite cosy. The food is excellent and cask ales are from mainly local breweries. The 12 keg lines are a bit of a disappointment, however, and the highlight from the c.10 bottles is Wallonia’s classic La Chouffe. NB: we list the nearest tube and train stations, but the best way to get here is to take the 93 bus to Tibbets Corner from either Putney or Wimbledon, or else enjoy a rather pleasant walk over Heath or Common. Jan 2022 update: cask quality was variable when we revisited. There were six ales available; we tried four of them - and had to send two back. Both were replaced without fuss. One of them was taken off, the other changed for a new barrel - and this new one was in great condition. But probably best to ask for a taster just in case. Reports welcome.
